Class placement is ultimately determined by the instructors based on what is best for the individual dancer. Ensuring that each student has the opportunity to learn to the best of their ability is vital for proper progress. If class placements are ‘sub-optimal’, students are likely to become disengaged and overwhelmed. Students progress at varied rates and this is taken into account when placing students in their classes. Placement is determined by many factors including class engagement, technique, musicality, alignment, ability to absorb and apply corrections and choreography. Students thrive and progress better and enjoy their lessons when they are placed at the proper level. Placement is made and approved solely by staff.
Tiny Dancers
Ages 3-6
Introduce your little ones to the joy of dance with our Tiny Dancers preschool class! Through a delightful blend of ballet, tap, and creative movement, children will embark on a magical journey of self-expression and exploration. Our nurturing environment encourages imagination and coordination, fostering a love for dance from the very beginning. Our dancers will develop creativity, musicality, body, and spatial awareness. Join us for a fun-filled adventure where every plié, toe tap, and twirl brings smiles and laughter!
Acro Groove
Ages 3-6
Join us for Acro Groove, where dance meets daring! This innovative class combines the beats of hip hop with the foundational skills of acrobatics and the freedom of creative movement. Our dynamic instructors will guide you through a fusion of styles, building strength, flexibility, and confidence with every move. Get ready to groove and move in this exhilarating dance adventure!
Bunhead Academy
Ages 5-7
Bunhead Academy is an AAD original class that explores ballet and tap, with jazz and creative movement. It focusing on fully understanding the etiquette of dance class while building their skills each week and is a perfect transition from the Tiny or Acro Groove classes, before venturing into the level I classes. Designed to inspire and nurture budding performers, this class offers a perfect blend of classic elegance, rhythmic precision, and imaginative expression. Join us at Bunhead Academy and let your child's passion for dance soar!
Dancer MUST be at least in 1st grade to participate in any age appropriate class beyond Tiny/Acro Groove/Bunhead Academy
Demi Dancers
Combination: Foundational Jazz, Hip Hop, & Ballet Class
Embark on a versatile dance journey with our Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop class tailored for 1st through 4th graders! Explore the grace of ballet, the sass of jazz, and the groove of hip hop in this dynamic and engaging class. Designed to nurture young dancers' technique, creativity, and love for movement, each session offers a blend of styles that promises fun, growth, and friendship. Join us and let your child discover the joy of dance across multiple genres!
Tap Troupe & Tap Alliance
Our dynamic tap classes are where rhythm meets movement! Beginners will master basic steps and build confidence, while intermediate tappers refine technique and explore more complex choreography. Open to all ages 7+!
Ballet
Ballet classes build strength, poise, proper body alignment, turnout, and extension in an expressive atmosphere. Dancers will develop their skills through classic barre work and floor exercises. Classes help to build technique with graceful, coordinated movements and provide the foundation for all other dance styles.
Pointe
This class builds on ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Class will consist of barre and center work, with a focus on proper alignment and correct placement.
*Class is by teacher invitation only, with required evaluation
*Must be enrolled in a regular ballet class at AAD
Lyrical*
Dive into the emotional and expressive world of dance with our Lyrical class! Combining the fluidity of ballet with storytelling, this class invites dancers to explore their inner emotions and connect with the music on a profound level. Through graceful movements and poignant choreography, students will learn to convey meaning and evoke emotion, while also honing their technique and artistry.
*Currently an invitation only class.
Jazz
Jazz classes focus on all elements of the jazz discipline including positions, turns, jumps, and leaps. Students will also learn center and locomotor progressions as well as proper stretching techniques, to enhance strength and flexibility. Classes explode with energy and create a space for dancers to explore their individual styles!
Jazz is included in the Demi Dancers, All That Crew, & Advanced Jazz classes. Contact us for which class is the right fit for your dancer.
Ascendance Squad
Step into the groove with our exciting jazz and hip hop class called Ascendance Squad! Explore the fun and energy of these dynamic dance styles while learning cool moves and building coordination. Get ready to unleash your creativity, make new friends, and shine on the dance floor! Best for those interested in Jazz level II or Hip Hop level II.
All That! Crew
Get ready to groove and move in our jazz and hip hop class tailored for middle schoolers! Discover the rhythm and style of these popular dance genres while building technique and confidence. Join us for a fun-filled experience where you can express yourself, learn new skills, and dance to your own beat. All That Crew fuses together Jazz with Hip-Hop. Best for those interested in Jazz III or Hip Hop levels III.
Abundance Players*
Production/Musical Theater Class
Step into the spotlight with our musical theater dance class! Abundance Players offers a fusion of dance and storytelling. Join us for an exhilarating journey where you'll develop technique, stage presence, and a passion for the art of musical theater. Perfect for the dancer who craves more theatrical dancing. We will explore many musical theater classics and perform our own routine for the recital. Ages 7+
*Must be enrolled in an additional jazz, ballet, or tap class to participate.
Hip-Hop
Hip-hop classes are fun and energetic, influenced by current music and culture. This style of dance is designed to teach musicality, coordination, strength, and agility. Students will participate in a high-energy class highlighting everyone's individual style.
Hip-Hop is part of the Acro Groove Classes, Demi Dancers, Ascendance Squad & the All That Crew.
AAD Company
Elevate your dance journey with our competitive dance team called AAD Company! Join our elite group of dancers who strive for growth and teamwork. Audition for a chance to be part of an exclusive ensemble that competes and performs locally. Join Company and let your passion for dance shine!
Company is for those dancers who want an additional challenge and performance opportunities. There are specific class requirements plus strict attendance policies in addition to any assigned Company class(es). Strong focus on technique, strength, musicality, performance, and leaps and turns. Auditions take place in summer.

Acro
Acro: Look out for Acro Workshops, and Jam Sessions!
Acro is a style of dance that works to seamlessly fuse dance moves with skills of balance, strength, flexibility, limbering, and tumbling. We allow our students to be consistently challenged in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. All levels will be in a recital routine together. Combined rehearsals will take place during the second half of the year.
